Workplace accidents happen onshore and offshore

In the historic series from 2012 to 2019, 15% of the accidents were caused by the operation of machinery and equipment.

In 2021, 571,800 accidents and 2,487 work-related deaths were reported, a 30% increase wnen compared to 2020.

The data are from the Occupational Safety and Health Observatory, developed and maintained by the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT) in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO) under the SmartLab Decent Work Initiative.

Between 2012 and 2021, 6.2 million Work Accident Communications (CATs) were registered and the INSS granted 2.5 million accident-related social security benefits, including sick pay, disability pensions, death grants, and accident aid. In the same period, the social security expense exceeded R$120 billion only with accidents.

Depending on the severity of the accident, the company is harmed in many ways, whether through the interruption of the workflow, the loss of time, employee morale crushing or by its image in the market, which tends to become negative.

The solution?

Fujitec NZ is a startup focused on life and asset protection and quality control that uses artificial intelligence, video analytics, and machine learning.

It was developed in response to the market’s need for a video management system for the detection, prevention, anticipation and suppression of accidents, in synergy with existing occupational safety systems, in order to match the objectives defined in the client`s goals.

The Fujitec NZ system processes the images from cameras specifically assigned to this function, covering predetermined areas of industrial vehicle, pedestrian, and asset movements, monitoring safety deviations such as: incorrect use of PPE, unsafe positioning under suspended loads, segregated areas, and obstruction of escape routes.

Once detected, an alert system notifies the vehicle operator and the pedestrian, besides issuing an audiovisual alert, in the form chosen by the client, which can be integrated to the monitoring system, to monitor the alerts issued by the control center through dedicated systems via internet, which can be securely accessed.

How does it work?

From a video survey of the areas, locations, points, machines, equipment, vehicles, assets and pedestrians of most concern, as chosen by the customer, “scenarios” to be monitored are developed.

Then, these scenarios are delimited and the maximum allowed distances, speeds and times are calculated, using the system’s own algorithms, to establish which will be allowed for the tasks to be carried out in a safe manner for the employees and assets, before a collision, collision, or trampling occurs.

Also at this point, the number of additional cameras (when needed) and edge equipment to ensure the perfect functioning of the system, in real time, is specified.

Once this is done, the implementation of the system begins.

Besides avoiding accidents by means of real-time notification, the system also allows data storage and the generation of reports with all the deviations committed.

Its implementation is simple and can be done quickly from the safety parameters already identified or from mapping the area, without the need for large investments in hardware.

“Ensure the safety and integrity of your employees and assets in a cost-efficient manner.”

How does it work The video surveillance system with the activated PPE Detection module identifies a person in the frame and detects the presence of PPE. In the event of an absence of PPE, you will automatically receive a notification on your monitor, phone or e-mail. All control events are automatically time-stamped. A video fragment with the violation can be found in the archive at any time..

Achievements No need to look at monitors of video surveillance cameras 24 hours a day. The PPE Detection module enables users to:
  • Minimize the cases of violation of safety regulations by the manufacturing facility employees
  • Prevent injuries in the workplace
  • Avoid penalties from regulatory authorities
  • Investigate the circumstances of cases of safety regulation violations.
How does it work In case of detection of sparks, smoke or fire, the user will receive an immediate notification on the operator`s display, via e-mail or mobile app. All events detected by the module will be time-stamped for quick search in the event report. The user can integrate the spark, smoke and fire detection module with a fire alarm or fire extinguishing system to ensure their joint operation.

Achievements No need to look at video surveillance monitors 24 hours a day. Thanks to the Spark, Smoke and Fire Detection module, users will be able to:
  • Promptly respond to fire and smoke and stop the breaking out or spreading of a fire
  • Promptly inform people in the danger zone for their quick evacuation from a manufacturing facility
  • Find precise locations and causes of fire or smoke
Thus, ensuring the survival and preservation of health of the personnel and minimizing damage to the property of the facility.
How does it work The module is installed on each camera whose recording is critically important. If the server with the cameras on which the module is installed fails, these cameras will be automatically transferred to the backup server. It will provide consistent transmission of video and prevent loss of archive while the server is disconnected.

Achievements Thanks to the Failover module, you will not lose a minute of video transmission or recording made by your video surveillance system. You will continue to receive all the notifications from your video analytics in your phone or email, despite the potential problems with the server. Thus, you will be able to continuously ensure the safety of staff of a manufacturing facility, avoiding the damage to the property.
How does it work The user can configure the following control events:
  • Camera defocusing
  • Turning the camera away from pre-defined view
  • Long-time flaring of a camera
  • Overlapping of the camera view
When any of the mentioned control events occurs, the user will receive an immediate notification to the monitor, phone or e-mail.

Achievements Thanks to the Sabotage Detection module, the user can quickly get a notification about the video surveillance system inoperability and promptly restore its functionality. Thus, the user be able to continuously ensure the safety of customers, staff, property and infrastructure of the facility.
How does it work In the settings, you specify the area where the contents of the shelf will be located. The algorithm calculates and stores the quantity of the special dots in the area. The number of dots represents the complete fullness of the shelf. After the intervals specified by the user (15-60 sec) the module checks the shelves and determines the percentage of their fullness with goods. If the module detects a shelf with fullness lower than the preset level, it sends a corresponding notification. Note: when the module detects the presence of people in the area (it is determined by the presence of motion), it does not perform frame processing until the movement is stopped.

Achievements No need to hire many employees to continuously monitor the fullness of shelves. Thanks to the Shelf Fullness module the user will:
  • Receive immediate notifications about an empty shelf on the operator’s display, to an electronic address, in a mobile app
  • Take timely action to fill the empty shelves with goods.
Thus, you will be able to increase profit by ensuring the goods are available to all internal or external customers.
How does it work This module enables users to set the minimum size of objects whose movement will be monitored. The maximum displacement of the object from one frame to another should be less than 1.5 frames. The user will receive an immediate notification on the operator monitor, by smart phone or email:
  • When an object crosses the control line (intrusion into the facilities, etc.)
  • When an object moves within the area
  • When an object remains within the area for a long time
The user can also search for fragments of the video on which an object crosses the control line or remains in the control zone.

Achievements No need to look at video surveillance monitors 24 hours a day. Thanks to the Tracking module, the user may dispatch security forces to neutralize the intruder and thus:
  • Ensure the safety of staff
  • Prevent a possible terrorist attack
  • Safeguard the property of the facility
In addition, the user can save server capacity by configuring the video recording to start only when a control event occurs.
How does it work This module enables users to:
  • Specify the area of a frame to be monitored
  • Set two quantitative levels: “Attention” and “Alarm”.
  • When a threshold is crossed, you will receive a prompt notification on your display, smartphone, or email.
  • You can obtain charts showing the number of people in the time-frame.

Achievements You do not have to watch the security system displays 24/7. Thanks to the Crowd Monitoring module, you will be able to promptly respond to public safety threats and ensure order. Thus, you will be able to provide safety of guests and personnel.
How does it work This module enables users to:
  • Specify and set up the areas to monitor for the abandoned objects
  • Specify the duration of the object’s permanence in the specified zone before triggering an alarm
When the control event is detected, you receive an immediate notification to the monitor, phone or e-mail.

Fiber Optic Network

Optical fibers are widely used in data and voice networks. Compared to conventional metal cables, they allow data transmission at a much greater distance and with greater bandwidth, so that they save costs in relation to other cables used for the same purposes.

The use of fiber optic network is increasingly present in our activities. Its use, in many cases, provides clear savings in operational, maintenance and implementation costs. Due to their characteristics, optical fibers have many advantages over conventional network systems, such as:

– Reduced Dimensions;

– Ability to carry large amounts of information;

– Very low attenuation, allowing deployment over long distances;

– Immunity to electromagnetic interference.
